Sydney - Last Day

Weather : Cooler than before..and pretty windy too.

We checked-out from the hotel at approximately 11am and shoot straight to the airport.

While waiting for the cab...

Our flight shall take-off at about 2.20 pm. We were all excited to go back home. And I was a bit nervous to take the flight as this was a day flight, so the boys might not be sleeping...

At the airport...

After claiming a tax refund for the camera purchased, we boarded the plane. The plane took off 30 minutes late than scheduled. Alhamdulillah, Aliff wasn't crying during the take off. I'm so scared of the ear pressure. But he seemed okay with it.

Then after 1 hour, he took a nap.

Ashraff was well-entertained by the in-flight movie. He watched from The Simpsons to Surf's Up, and nap in between.

Aliff nap for 3 hours straight. So both of us got to enjoy ourselves to some great movies. I got to watch Spiderman 3 (finally...) and Hubby watched Ocean's Thirteen (I think..).

After that Ashraff woke up and we let him play with his new toy that we brought from Malaysia which we resort on giving him on the flight for that extra thrill.

Follow suit, Aliff woke up, thus we are left with another 3 1/2 hours to distract, entertain, walk around with him. Masa tu rasa tak sabar sangat nak sampai. But he was a good boy throughout the journey. Only cried for feeding. He also enjoyed watching Shrek, and playing with his new toys.

Cuma masa nak landing tu dia ada nangis sikit due to the pressure. But there were lots of babies in the flight, and others cried longer and louder.

We finally touched down at about 9.10 pm...and was glad to be greeted by mak, abah and bibik who misses their grandchildren very dearly.

Except for few unfortunate events, the holiday went out well, alhamdulillah. Of course we did some post-mortem on the trip. Here are some of our findings:-

1. Just bring a small and handy camera, which could be attached to your pocket. A bulky camera when travelling with kids is not advisable.

2. We will set age limit after this. Maybe those 3 years and above je got to travel. Or else, we'll bring other people around to help us look after the kids should we have other things to focus. But this is very subjective as it depends a lot on your kid's behaviour. If there are easier to manage, accommodating and cooperative in all situations, then bawak ramai-ramai pun takpe.

3. Breastfeeding helps. It is so comfortable coz we don't have to bring extra bottles, milk, thermoflask...and you can just breastfeed them whenever they feel restless especially in the flight. A sling also helps. I could just breastfeed him while shopping, touring etc.

4. If you want to travel on your own, research is a must. Make an itinerary and stick to it. We did our research for few months and put everything in a folder wherever we go...map, directions, fees and fares etc. This is a must especially if you are travelling with younger kids. Alhamdulillah, we got to visit most of interesting places.

I guess, that's about it. Look forward for our next long holiday together. We'll give it another three years to save money...

So, one big event down. One more to go...which is none other than the boys' birthday party...

i pulak yg syahdu reading the end of your trip. i know it can be tiring and testing at times, but seriously...it looked like a great holiday. the weather was nice kan?

alhamdulillah the boys were ok on the trip back. at least u guys sat together. i had to sit separately from hubby so it was a bit stressful handling asyraf all on my own (with this big tummy).

u're right about the research. nothing beats being fully prepared for a trip, right down to street name & weather.

thinking of hk disneyland for our next trip. maybe a short one - 3,4 days je...can we handle 3 at one time??
